3. Is the Kutchu play mat safe for children?
Yes, we created the Kutchu natural rubber play mat to offer a safe and natural alternative to mats made of synthetic materials such as PVC, EVA, TPE, etc. The Kutchu play mat was safety-tested by an internationally recognized laboratory and certified to meet all North American toy safety standards. Our test results show no trace of phthalates or other toxic elements, and passed requirements for flammability and physical properties.

4. My play mat has a natural rubber smell. Will it fade over time?
Your Kutchu play mat will initially have a natural rubber odour which will fade over time, with regular use and cleaning, as detailed in product care instructions. Airing out the mat by leaving it unrolled on a flat surface may help accelerate this process. The rubber scent comes from natural properties of the material and is not harmful.

5. How do I clean my play mat?
To clean the play surface, wipe with a damp cloth. You may also use a solution of water and vinegar in a bucket or a spray bottle: 1 part white vinegar, 4 parts water, and a couple drops of tea tree oil (optional). Wipe spills immediately and allow play mat to dry completely before use or before storing. Do not soak your mat, use soaps, detergents and other cleaning products, or use a vacuum cleaner or appliance on your mat, as these may damage the Kutchu play mat and affect its safety.

6. How soft is the Kutchu play mat?
The Kutchu play mat is soft and comfortable for play time and provides a non-slip cushioned landing for tots learning to sit, stand and walk. The cushioning and support are similar to that of a thick yoga mat.
